Class Policies
You are responsible for your attendance. Make-ups are subject to the policies outlined below.
- Students in 3-5 week once-a-week courses, twice-a-week courses, and prepaid drop-in courses can make-up at other once-a-week courses, twice-a-week courses, and weekend drop-in classes
- Cost per make-up is $5 and is payable to the instructor when you take a make-up
- One make-up is allowed per two class meetings (example 4 makeups for an 8-session course)
- Make-ups for 3 to 5 week once-a-week courses, twice-a-week courses, and prepaid drop-ins must be completed during the same calendar month as the course for which you are registered and cannot be made up in the next calendar month
- No make-ups can be taken at Intensives, Workshops, or Pranayama courses
- Make-ups cannot be at a higher level course than you have taken in the past, or are currently taking
- Make-ups do not need to be pre-arranged
- Students making up a course must check in with the new instructor to pay the fee, explain which course is being made-up, and describe any injuries, restrictions or medical conditions

- Students in 6-10 week once-a-week courses can make up at other once-a-week courses, twice-a-week courses, and weekend drop-in classes
- Cost per make-up is $5 and is payable to the instructor when you take a make-up
- One make-up is allowed per two class meetings (example 4 makeups for an 8-session course)
- Make-ups for 6 to 10 week courses must be completed by the last scheduled class of the course for which you are registered
- No make-ups can be taken at Intensives, Workshops, or Pranayama courses
- Make-ups cannot be at a higher level course than you have taken in the past, or are currently taking
- Make-ups do not need to be pre-arranged
- You must check in with the new instructor to pay the fee, explain which course is being made-up, and describe any injuries, restrictions or medical conditions
- Cost per make-up is $5 and is payable to the instructor when you take a make-up
- The last day to make-up a class is the last scheduled day of the Intensive in which you are enrolled
- You may take 6 make-ups per Intensive
- Make-ups cannot be at a higher level course than you have taken in the past, or are currently taking
- No make-ups are allowed at the Friday 7:00am Intensive class, which is a Pranayama class
- Make-ups do not need to be pre-arranged
- You must check in with the new instructor to pay the fee, explain which course is being made-up, and describe any injuries, restrictions or medical conditions
- For those who cancel within 7 days of the start date of any yoga intensive, weekly class, monthly class pass, or prepaid drop-in class there is no credit toward any future, class, workshop, training, private or teacher training. This also applies to those that drop out of any of the above mentioned classes, courses, intensives after they have begun.
- For those that cancel their space in an intensive, weekly yoga course, pre-paid drop-in class more than 7 days prior to the start date there is a cancellation and transference fee of $15 for each Class, Weekly courses and Prepaid Drop-in, and a $25 cancellation and transference fee for intensives and monthly class passes.
- Any credit given for early cancellation minus the $15-$25 cancellation fee must be taken within 90 days of the start date of the cancelled course or class and is non transferrable to other people and is usable for only yoga classes, and yoga intensives, and cannot be used for workshops, teacher trainings, privates, and retail items.
- To use a valid credit please contact the office several days in advance at [email protected] Please do not expect the teacher to be aware of any credit you may have.
- This policy does not apply to the 4 week teacher training courses and the 1 year teacher training courses which have their own cancellation policy.
- We don not give refunds nor do we give credit for cancellations from our workshops or non attendance..
- Registrants for 5 Day Teacher Training Courses are eligible to receive full credit toward a future Teacher Training course or Practice Intensive for cancellations one month or more before the start of the course.
- Notification of cancellation must be in writing (via snail mail or email) or by calling us. The credit must be taken within eighteen months of the cancellation.
- If you have a credit for having cancelled from a previous program, in the event the future rescheduled course is cancelled, we will extend credit toward another course, but under no circumstances will we give a refund.
- No credit will be given for cancellations less than one month before the start of the course.
- We offer refunds only when the Center cancels the Teacher Training Course for which you have registered
There are no refunds for cancellation for this program. No credits are available to other programs offered by the Center.

Refunds will be given only:
- If the Workshop is already full. We will refund your full tuition.
- If you cancel your space and your written notification is postmarked two weeks before the start of the Workshop or earlier. You will receive a 90% refund.
- If you cancel within two weeks of the Workshop. We will give you a 90% refund only if you cancel your space, the program is full, and your space can be filled from our waiting list.
Credit toward future Workshops, Intensives, or Classes sponsored by The Center For Yoga of Seattle is available if we are notified of the cancellation at least two weeks prior to the course.
- Gift certificates expire in a period of one year from purchase and are not refundable or transferable
- Private lessons must be cancelled by giving a 24-hour advance notice of cancellation in order to be rescheduled.
